I really hope this isn't a joke because this is quite possibly the coolest movie news in years.
Plus weren't Bale and Depp just in that gangster movie together? This is too perfect. Truly a role he was born to play.
However the third installment of the last Batman franchise is where they started fouling up so they better not let history repeat itself.
UPDATE: Thumb up if you agree. Jason Gordon Levitt would be a good replacement for Ledger because he resembles him quite a bit AND he proved his acting ability in The Lookout.

What, it being several years out? Not a big deal, more time to get the story and casting right.
Depp or Crispin Glover would be good as the Riddler. Megan Fox or Scarlett Johansen would be great a Catwoman.
Paul Giamatti as Penguin would also be good.
And to think Ledger could have returned to mix things up. Shame.
The Dark Knight was an amazing movie, I can't wait for the 3rd Batman to come out because no doubt it WILL be amazing. But, Heath Ledger being dead, who ever plays the Joker can't be nearly as good as Ledger was.Batman Fans Only!!!!!!!?
