The Dark Knight sequel? Batman 3?

any updates? news? what do u guys know about it? pretty sure theres gonna be a sequel but when? news??The Dark Knight sequel? Batman 3?
Interviewer: So do you think there will be a part 3 of Batman?

Christian Bale: Um, look, let鈥檚 wait and see鈥?br>

Interviewer: Or, I guess it鈥檇 be part 6.

Christian Bale: No, no, no, no, no. [Smiling] Part 3 is what I鈥檇 consider it, yeah, I don鈥檛 say part 6. Batman begins - that was the beginning there, with all due respect to the others. We are re-creating this. You know, obviously the decision is out of my hands. I would, knowing the Dark Knight story, I would like very much to complete a trilogy. And I think that knowing the story of The Dark Knight, it leaves you anticipating something that really can get very, very interesting for a third. Now, the question would be: Is Chris going to be doing it? Because to me I find it tricky to imagine working on it without it being a collaboration with Chris.

Since The Dark Knight is headed to become the second biggest grossing film of all time (domestically), rumors have already begun as to what villains will be featured in the enevitable sequel. The latest from the rumor mill has Johnny Depp as The Riddler, Angelina Jolie as The Catwoman, and Philip Seymour Hoffman as The Penguin. Oh my!

Wouldn鈥檛 Johnny Depp make a great Riddler? Yeah, BUT the truth of the matter is that Christopher Nolan has not yet signed on for a third Batman film. His brother and screenwriter Jonathan Nolan is supposedly still on the set doing work for Terminator Salvation. And who knows what David Goyer is up to. Even if he is busy penning a treatment, which is doubtful, I鈥檓 confident that casting talks won鈥檛 take place for quite some time. Nolan is also the type of guy to cast a role only when he has a script in hand. So I鈥檓 sure we won鈥檛 hear any casting announcements any time soon. But also take note that none of the actors who have played villains thus far were considered A-listers. And by that I mean, none of them alone could (at least, at the time) open a big blockbuster movie. The Dark Knight sequel? Batman 3?
ok now for real answers

Chris Nolan signed on for 3 movies, however after Dark Knight he took a break from filming, and has yet to say rather or not he is gonna do the third movie.

The only fact for sure is that Aaron Eckhart asked Nolan about a return of Two Face, and Nolan said "Your Dead"

There is no release date yet, no cast yet, all though tons of rumors, no one has been approached yet to play in it.
