But also take note that none of the actors who have played villains thus far were considered A-listers. Chris Nolan signed on for 3 movies, however after Dark Knight he took a break from filming, and has yet to say rather or not he is gonna do the third movie.



The only fact for sure is that Aaron Eckhart asked Nolan about a return of Two Face, and Nolan said "Your Dead"



There is no release date yet, no cast yet, all though tons of rumors, no one has been approached yet to play in it.

I'm a few days late on this, but I was pretty surprised when I saw the news. I'm not the biggest Robin Williams fan, but his performance could be interesting. One thing I'm not too sure about, though, is another villain. That makes three, and if Joseph-Gordon Levitt plays a villain, that will be four. From the looks of it, the villains in this one will come off as heroes to Gotham, and Batman will be seen as the enemy, which I like.

The mother blames the school for his death. Initially the headmaster was convicted for negligence.

My kid's headmaster is a bit of a rare beast he is actively encouraging the kids to play a bit more like we used to . He gave them free reign of 'the bushes' and a load of old school furniture to make dens. He got a load of logs from a chopped down tree and just left them in a big heap for the kids to do with whatever they want .



Now the kids ARE coming home with all kinds of cuts and bruises there's even been a broken arm...but the kids LOVE him for it . I applaud him , what happened to that child is very sad but why oh why does it always have to be someones fault?
He's nowhere near responsible.



There are steps everywhere and probably some in the child's home, would the parents be convicted if he jumped down a couple of steps at home and the same happened?! If he jumped down a couple of steps in the shop would the manager be convited?!



Also the daily mail is a terrible paper, they call four steps a flight of stairs? I don't think so.

I think 1 person watching over 59 children in a playground is way too few.It was a tragic accident that may have been avoided if two or three more folk were watching the kids.Having said that even if there had been more in attendance this might still have happened so taking that in to consideration I can't see how you can convict.If he's guilty of anything it's of not lessening the possibility.Bummer of a case to have to judge though.Poor wee fellah.

As to blaming the headmaster, you might just as well blame the parents. Surely they would have toured the school before their child started there and if they did not consider the stairs to be dangerous for their child then why would the headmaster. It seems to me that this is a straightforward accident.



My concern is why does everyone feel the need to profit from accidents nowadays? I can understand someone who has been disabled suing after something like this where the money would improve their quality of life and provide medical equipment and aids. And if you feel someone needs to be punished for their neglect then fine them and give the money to charity. But to profit from a child's death? It is so very sad. When we leave our children at school, we put so much faith in the system. We trust their Health And Safety policy is up to scratch, and that all risks are minimised.

Incidents like this are very rare, however they do happen, obviously not many as tragic as this.

Ultimately I think the Headmaster was not negligent in not foreseeing the risk the steps posed.

I think it was a fluke he banged his head like that.

I bet hundreds of kids have jumped from that exact set of steps, and had fun.

No I don't think so, from the sounds of it it was nothing more than a tragic accident. I have a four year-old son and he is always pretending to be Spiderman, jumping around and climbing. It is natural for kids of that age. Sadly in this case the boy tragically injured himself badly. I feel for his mother, but I don't think the headmaster is to blame.

This Headteacher is a very hard working and decent individual and did not deserve being found guilty and having to pay the huge fine imposed on him. I am glad his appeal was upheld. Obviously I am sorry that the small boy was injured when he jumped and fell but this accident did not cause his death.
No way was the Headmaster responsible, nor should this case have ever been brought before th courts. I mean, just look at the mother: She has "Claims Direct" written all over her face. Should there be another Nolan 'Batman' film with the Joker?

After watching The Dark Knight for a second time at the cinema, the way in which the Joker's story ended - with him simply hanging there as the SWAT prepared to arrest him - is becoming increasingly frustrating. I guess it's because the scene literally just ends, with a straight change to Harvey and Gordon.



Hopefully a scene has been left out to be used in a third film, i.e. a simple shot of him in Arkham laughing inside a cell. Just to let us know what was supposed to happen to him. The problem is the Joker is 'the' enemy of Batman, but I kind of hope he does not return for Nolan's series, as to have anyone else play Joker in another Nolan film would be hard to accept - it's like replacing Bale.



I'd prefer a quick unused shot of Ledger as the Joker in a final film, or a quick mention of what happened, i.e. a character on the news who says 'the Joker has once again escaped custody", leaving his fate mysterious.

I don't think that there can be another Joker after the way Heath Ledger portrayed the character. I agree that a quick shot of him in a jail cell, or a mention of his whereabouts by another character is needed based on that last scene.

I don't think he should. NOBODY could top Ledger's portrayal of him and Nolan would get so much crap for replacing him.



A friend of mine told me that there was a scene where the Joker cuts himself free and falls to his death but they left it out because Heath Ledger died and they felt it would be wrong to show that.

Point is, an unused scene from The Dark Knight is a good idea. They have so many other villains they can focus on in the next films. Most comic book movies don't focus on the same villain twice because they have the same tricks and it gets old. I'm guessing they'll do something else, like Mr. Freeze or something.

I loved Ledgers performance and I don't want to take anything away from it but the Joker is Batmans main nemisis. Throughout the comics he has returned again and again. And one thing I like about the comics is that the artist and writers always change.

Would it be hard to find an actor that could do even half the good job that Ledger did?... undoubtedly.

Will it have to be done?... YES.

Batman without the Joker would be unthinkable.

Maroni survived car accident. Even when car accident happened which led us to believe Maroni died, he had not as when Twoface flipped coin in car, the coin landed on good side up sparing Maroni. Maroni still survived car crash and knows more about Batman...



Because of Maroni's disfigurement from the car crash, Maroni hides most of his face with mask hence becomes Black Mask and continues with the criminal mob underworld.



Interior and exterior of Arkham Asylum is seen in the third film. The Joker is behind bars at Arkham, dialogue between him and Commish Gordon as well as brief shots of the joker in film as well as scenes from Jonathan Crane - The Scarecrow locked up in Arkham.



The Riddler plays a dominant role in third film.

Talia Al Ghul is also in film.

Black Mask/Sal Maroni - the typical mob boss.



In the end the Batman fights to win over the public somehow - involving typical fighting action scenes etc..

Black Mask dies. Not sure what happens to The Riddler - locked away likely.





A DRAMATIC TWIST at end of third film involving the joker although we don't see this on camera. More likely The Joker escapes and free's all Arkham inmates. Including The Scarecrow !!

Must stress this is not filmed for us to see. We do not see this on camera, Comissioner Gordon most likely finds out and tells the Batman etc.. Mass Panic in Gotham City. People of Gotham relies heavily on the Batman this time.



This is the point where Batman 3 finishes. The continuation of Batman is left for somebody else to direct and film as Nolan is leaving after this. The Batman is once again on a neverending crusade to fight the criminals and to protect and save the people of Gotham which now believe The Batman is 'there hero' in Gotham City.

Maroni survived THAT car crash.. The Joker is mentioned briefly but is NEVER shown on screen.. he is in arkham asylum... for now - the script has it that there is a shock towards the end involving the joker but we don't see what that involvement is.

Twoface is dead. Scarecrow is apparently caught and locked up. Christian Bale, Morgan Freeman, Michael Caine and Gary Oldman are signed on to return for their final part of their contract too. This is based on an early working draft of the script. Can't wait for more news. Will keep you informed.

What makes "Batman : The Dark Knight" so appealing?

I'll tell ya why : Because after people saw Batman Begins and realized what the genius director named Chris Nolan can do with a set of spectacular actors, some good screen-writing, a good special effects team and everything else, they got hooked and couldn't wait for Batman 2 to drop.



I haven't spoken to a single person who thought Batman Begins was less than stellar - the movie was phenomenal and left us all waiting for the sequel especially when the Joker hint is dropped at the end of the movie. But no one knew old Heath could deliver this kind of performance. It's sad that he's gone...I remember I was on my way to California to pursue acting when the news aired on the radio. It's sad that he gave the performance of his career and then couldn't even live to reap the praise of the masses. The fact that he did so well in the film and is no longer with us certainly adds to the reason "Batman : The Dark Knight" is a must see! Go see it!What makes "Batman : The Dark Knight" so appealing?

Heath Ledger definitely deserves any nomination for his outstanding performance...possibly The Best Supporting Actor award or the post-humous award. He portayed the Joker extremely well and even brought more darkness and realism in The Joker's physical appearance.

I don't think color matters much for a character, but how they can play a character. What I didn't like about Jim Carrey was he seemed too Mask-ish in it. Eddie Murphy could be fine, and just be happy that he'll only be playing one role in the movie.



Just so you know, the reason that there are different color Green Lanterns is because there is actually a corp of Green Lanterns that guard different sectors of the universe. So you have literally thousands of different Green Lanterns :)

I like their choice, actually. Color aside, Eddie Murphy's kind of perfect for the part. I hope they don't make him as silly of a character as Jim Carrey's. I preferred Ledger's dark Joker, and I'd like to see them do that with The Riddler, and I think Murphy can pull it off.

Anybody who follows comics probably knows that DC Comics is "Rebooting" (for lack of a better word) there whole Universe. this also means that they are changing the time line so that superheros in the DCU (or DCnU as its now being called) have only been active for 5 years.



Which brings up the question about Batman and his crew, which is

"If super-heroes have only existed for five years, how has Batman had so many sidekicks?"



DC Comics official answer to this is that "Robin is an intern program -and a very intensive one at that."



Honestly I think its the most realistic way to explain why a grown man would choose so many kids as his crime fighting partners.



(thought I think preteens and teenagers are still kinda young to fight mass murderers and psychopaths but whatever I'll go with it)



Besides, Batman is such a perfectionist and so territorial about who dose what in "his city" that I think it makes sense that he would not allow any other vigilante types to operate in Gotham without some sort of year long training program. but that's just me

Hmm. This sounds like it could be the one and only logical way to explain the "Robin" thing without making the Batman a creeper-type (note the lower case....this is a bad thing).



I do still have to wonder then, what the "Boy Wonders" get out of it, since well.....they're going to be students a _lot_ more than they're going to be sidekicks. That's my issue: it does rather neatly preclude _most_ of the reasons why there'd be an emotional relationship of _Any_ sort at all going on between the Batman and his "Robin of the Week".

Batman 3 - Nolan not to re-cast Joker?

Well this is what he has said. There are some other reports which say "Never be cast" but i think that's BS. Im a Batman fan, not the overweight,Comic book loving freak, i Just find Batman more realistic. The Joker as most know was the biggest character in Batman. If you saw the Dark Knight the Joker said they would "do this forever". This tells me it isn't over. I can understand them giving him a break, but to close him out completely until a new director plans to re-do batman in 50 years is insane. Hopefully Nolan does a 4th installment in which Harley Quinn will be introduced. I mean, the Joker is presumably in Arkham Asylum [after his capture in the dark knight]. And it would only make sense to introduce Dr. Harleen Quinzel who through the Joker's Manipulation becomes Harley Quinn. It makes sense, the story is there. I can understand how Nolan would feel it being predictable, but maybe he could add a little something extra!

I don't think there's any point in recasting the Joker; it would just be the same thing over again. I think another villain should be the focus of the movie.

I highly doubt Nolan would recast Joker it would put Ledger to shame. And in 50 years down the line and the redo Batman then I will have no hope for Hollywood and its movies. Batman 3 directed by Nolan will be the last film. I don't see how Harley can work in Batman shes not much of a fighting villain nor is she that smart to be up against Batman alone. I would like to see some other villains like Hush or The Phantasm or even Firefly, but in all the Batman films only the most popular villains appear.

Bruce Banner travels to the city of Gotham where he has heard of new breakthroughs in gamma ray technology



Bruce Wayne gets wind of freakish experiments involving gamma rays, as well as the sighting of a massive green creature loose in the city so he goes to investigate



Banner hears the stories of a ''batman'' but doesn't believe them



Wayne learns of Banner's experiments and believes he is behind the disturbances and may even be working with the Joker so he confronts Banner



Banner, believing this freaky looking guy may be working for general Ross



conversation turns physical, Batman i manhandling Banner who is begging him not to push him too far



this just infuriates Batman who thrown Banner up against a wall, then............



green eyes, growling, moaning, clothes ripping



next thing the people of Gotham see is the figure of Batman being thrown several football fields away landing in a heap of garbage on the other end of town



Wayne wakes up looking at Alfred, he is in bad shape but alive



Wayne hears that green creature was indeed Banner



Banner shows up at the Wayne mansion looking for help with his experiments only to learn of Wayne's run in with the Hulk



after talking for a while the two decide to work together, but Banner has no idea if his alter ego will cooperate.



the Joker hears news of this and has Betty kidnapped



Banner gets pissed and goes looking for Betty



Wayne struggles to get ready but does



while searching for Joker Banner falls into one of Joker's traps



next thing you know, yes....



HULK SMASH PUNY CLOWN MAN!



just then Batman shows up, Hulk looks at him in a bewildered but angry way and moves in to crush the dark knight



just then, Joker tries to shoot at Betty, Batman dives in front of the bullet, saving Betty

not bad, i would read it. But you know batman always has the upper hand. he would know the Hulk's weakness.
You do realize you are crossing two comic book companies Hulk(Marvel) and Batman(DC)?



I think it could work as a graphic novel. Try to put in more tension. Batman could have worked out something to stop the Hulk with some kind of anti-gamma weapon. In the end, it gets destroyed by the Hulk which upsets Banner as this was possibly the one chance to cure him. Wayne agrees to continue to research the cure.



The Joker could hit the Hulk with his laughing gas that creates a freakish clown on the rampage.

Because of Maroni's disfigurement from the car crash, Maroni hides most of his face with mask hence becomes Black Mask and continues with the criminal mob underworld.



Interior and exterior of Arkham Asylum is seen in the third film. The Joker is behind bars at Arkham, dialogue between him and Commish Gordon as well as brief shots of the joker in film as well as scenes from Jonathan Crane - The Scarecrow locked up in Arkham.



The Riddler plays a dominant role in third film.

Talia Al Ghul is also in film.

Black Mask/Sal Maroni - the typical mob boss.



In the end the Batman fights to win over the public somehow - involving typical fighting action scenes etc..

Black Mask dies. Not sure what happens to The Riddler - locked away likely.





A DRAMATIC TWIST at end of third film involving the joker although we don't see this on camera. More likely The Joker escapes and free's all Arkham inmates. Including The Scarecrow !!

Must stress this is not filmed for us to see. We do not see this on camera, Comissioner Gordon most likely finds out and tells the Batman etc.. Mass Panic in Gotham City. People of Gotham relies heavily on the Batman this time.



This is the point where Batman 3 finishes. The continuation of Batman is left for somebody else to direct and film as Nolan is leaving after this. The Batman is once again on a neverending crusade to fight the criminals and to protect and save the people of Gotham which now believe The Batman is 'there hero' in Gotham City.

Oh dear. That's terrible. When they're still waiting on Nolan to commit to a 3rd film no script or story ideas are being looked at. Nolan writes these with his brother and Neil Gaimen, they've apparently spoken about some plot points but again that is just speculation.

Until Nolan says yes or no to directing a 3rd film nothing you ever hear will be true. Nolan is the batman franchise at this point and any one who says they know what the plot is, who the bad guys will be is just talking out of their as*



Several of the things mention in your statement have already appeared on several sites as rumors and most of that plot is taken from different classic batman comic books.
