Well guess what, is has been confirmed that Zimmer has returned to compose The Dark Knight for it's release later this year.
His score for Batman Begins was very well done much better than the previous composers (well Danny Elfman was great for the original). It really befitted the movie.

thats awesome, I can't wait till "the dark knight" comes out. the first one was great so i'm expecting great things from the second one as well.
It was already a given that he would return along with James Newton Howard or Howard Newton. Zimmer stated he would give Batman his theme this time. In Begins, he felt Bruce Wayne was still growing into the Batman persona and therefore did not create a specific theme. For The Dark Knight, we will hear the new Batman theme.
I much prefer Zimmer over Elfman for Batman. I've been a fan of his work for a very long time now.
