Nolan not sold on BATMAN 3?



Well, this rumor has come and gone since 'The Dark Knight' but Batman-on-Film is floating it again, citing new info from unnamed, independent sources.



Their sources claim that Nolan, who is currently at work on 'Inception' has not committed to a new Bat-Film and seems uninterested in doing so. Contributing factors are said to be Nolan's continuing upset over the death of Heath Ledger as well as the loss of The Joker as a potential villain for the third installment which disrupts the story that Nolan had been building towards.



Same sources admit that Nolan may still come around, but if he does, we won't likely see a new 'Batman' until 2012 or 2013.

Lets put it this way, if he's pressured to do a 3ed movie, he won't enjoy making it, he'll be like a frustrated woman on PMS the whole time. Just let the franchise go cold for 5 or 10 years before DC Comics permits WB to allow another director to make a Batman movie so the nerds who actualy read the comics can vent off their issues with his continuity errors.What do you think of this news of 3rd Batman movie (read article)?
Let Nolan take all the time he wants! There's no sense rushing the third Batman and producing a crappy third installment. It would be a mistake to get another director to fill his shoes cause the scope and vision wouldn't be the same. Warner Bros. would be wise to wait for Nolan to sign back on after his work with Inception is over.What do you think of this news of 3rd Batman movie (read article)?
I'd rather let Nolan take his time and re-think his story arc, now that Joker is out of the third movie, than to just throw some random villains into the Joker's role and make a crap movie with a different director.



In fact I'd rather see no Batman 3 than have the franchise get ruined by a turd movie like Spiderman 3!
Work will probably start on Batman 3 sometime next year I think. I hope.

I doubt there will be anything apart from more rumours this year.

Maybe at the end of 2009 something might develop such as a finalised script and rough outlines of where to take it.



If work on Batman 3 started EARLY 2010 [hopefully that will be the case]

Then they would need to start the casting sessions - who to find to play the specific villain and characters. This will take some time, especially as main actors and actresses need to be given atleast 1 years notice to filming as they have other project commitments.

Most acters are usually fully booked in advance for a year or more.

Then there is the developing of the set, the designing ideas of the villains costumes and making and film props which will take just under a year - end of 2010. The finance of the film is definatley not a problem with Batman 3! Then there is the finding and shooting of locations before filming starts.



Then after there is the proper filming which will take a year - mid-end 2011. Filming is a long process, usually takes around 6 months.



Then afterwards there is post production which will take a few months after - beginning of 2012



- Then it would be time for a 2012 summer release.

Only if work on Batman 3 gets going sometime early 2010.





I would like to see The Riddler, HarleyQuin and BlackMask in Batman 3.



The Riddler - Main Villain

HarleyQuin - we see her become Harleyquin throughout the movie. Dr Harleen Quuinzel's transition into HarleyQuin

BlackMask - Connected to the Mob and criminal underworld - More of a side villain. There needs to be a new boss and he would be great.



If not Harleyquin then introduce Talia Al Ghul. I would rather see her than Catwoman. Talia would provide a connection between the first Batman movie involving her father Rhas Al Ghul. That would also round the trilogy off. Maybe she's taking revenge on her father.

There definately needs to be a female so it's either going to be Talia Al Ghul, Catwoman or HarleyQuin. As much as I would like it to be HarleyQuin I have a good feeling it's either going to be Catwoman OR Talia Al Ghul. I'm thinking Talia Al Ghul. I have a good feeling don't ask me why.



So it will be The Riddler [main villain], Talia Al Ghul and BlackMask [side villain] Rather than a stand out villain, Black Mask would be the typical mobster Boss like the previous Batman films.
